Unix was originally developed in the 60s and 70s so the "start" of Unix Time was set to January 1st 1970 at midnight GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) - this date/time was assigned the Unix Time value of 0. This is what is know as the Unix Epoch.

So if it was created in Eastern time it could be a few hours earlier.

But exFat is Microsoft but was adopted by Mac OS and Linux recently.

I suggest smashing with a sledgehammer then burning it with fire just to be safe.

Yeah - it's a microSD card from the GoPro that sees time in MS and Mac environments.  I recently used the GoPro "format SD card" function on it, and maybe GoPro uses some wacky Unix-derived OS???
