Popular Post MickinMD ★ Posted January 3, 2022 Popular Post Share #1 Posted January 3, 2022 The cancerous tumor in my BiL Brian's upper right lung lobe has already shrunk so much more than expected that they're cutting back on the amount of radiation. They'll continue daily weekday radiation and Friday chemo for 3-4 more weeks, check the size of the tumor again and decide the next step. The plan is to make sure it can be removed entirely, along with the lobe, and not have any cancerous cells migrate outside the lung during the procedure. They say 80% chance of complete recovery. He's been feeling good all along: no more-than-normal cough, no hair loss, etc. My sister, a cancer research nurse at Hopkins until Sept. 2020, recognized a "cancer cough" and the lung cancer was caught very early on, so there's reason for optimism. Pics: Brian getting chemo a couple weeks back. Brian's view, driving over the Francis Scott Key Bridge to get radiation treatment today. Brian's from Northern Maine and isn't bothered by a little snow. When he moved to Maryland, he couldn't understand why everyone didn't own a snow blower or why anyone would need a 5' tall tomato cage. 3

Some lung removals can be done lathrocopically (sp) but mine could not...I think because of the tumor's size which was 1 inch. Anywho, my recovery absolutely sucked. Major pain I ranked it an 8/10. I hope he does well send him my prayers & vibes.
