team scooter Posted January 11, 2022 Share #7 Posted January 11, 2022 There are three people off work due to Covid, several at the places we deliver to. And we need to be careful what we say at work. I mentioned last week that I didnt feel 100% and they wanted me to go get tested. 1
Kirby Posted January 11, 2022 Share #8 Posted January 11, 2022 Oh no. There does seem to be a non-covid flu roaming around as well, but whatever it is, take care of yourself, get plenty of fluids and rest a lot.

Too bad so many out there take bad advice that impacts everyone. Also too bad that the mutations let omicron circumvent a lot of that reasonable protection. 2Far ★ Posted January 11, 2022 Author Share #23 Posted January 11, 2022 Home test is easy peasy. Swirl both nostrils with the swab; swirl the swab in the solution, put 3 drops of the solution on the test strip, 15 minutes later you have your results. C-line shows the test is working, T-line shows up if you’re positive. The darker the line, the more bad bugs you have. 1

Road Runner Posted January 11, 2022 Share #26 Posted January 11, 2022 I think if I come down with the symptoms, I'm not going to bother with the test. There’s limited supplies of monoclonal antibodies that are effective for omicron, but new oral drugs that stop the virus from replicating. Currently also in limited supplies, but if you are particularly at-risk for complicated illness, the first five days of symptoms is the treatment window. So sometimes it pays to know early.

I think you'll be fine, but depending on the infection order - grandson -> StS vs StS -> grandson, and assuming grandson not tested(?), that's cutting it mighty close. MoseySusan Posted January 11, 2022 Share #33 Posted January 11, 2022 Grandson doesn’t have it. Stepson is asymptomatic. There’s a chance they’ll decide to wait since we’ve told StS we aren’t going to invite anyone for visiting or having dinner. Just low-key go skiing.
