What are your feel good/happy songs?

I've got some Amazon digital credits that are expiring soon and since my kindle is pretty full with books at the moment I was going to get some music.  I don't usually purchase songs because I'll listen to sirius in the car, but I may as well use the credits before they expire.

So what are some happy, feel good songs that I can add for my long car trip playlist.  Older songs, newer songs, pretty much any genre as long as its the sort of thing that helps put you in a good mood.

I think classically speaking, Vivaldi's Four Seasons is the popular selection in this respect. Patience is the prerequisite to glean any sort of satisfaction from the music. One needs to immerse themselves into the world of the music and allow it to lead you to the magical places. If not simply permit it to sweep you off your feet and lead you to a greater understanding and a state of nirvana.

You may also consider something from Dvořák if you care to sustain yourself.

My natural inclination would be a study of death and rebirth expressed though Stavinsky's "The Firebird".

You'd be better served to consult @MickinMD in this area because, as you know,      (wait for it)      it's all rock and roll to me.

Off the top of my head, stuff that soothes me - sometimes fast, sometimes slow songs:

Simon and Garfunkel, Feeling Groovy

Connie Francis - Al Di La

Linda Ronstadt - When I Fall in Love

Billy Joel - The Longest Time

John Denver - a bunch of them - I've sometimes played "Sunshine on My Shoulders" on piano to relax.

Ray Charles - Georgia On My Mind

Nora Jones - Come Away with Me

Bette Midler - In the Mood

Colbie Caillat - Fallin' for You

Vonda Shepard's version of - Hooked On a Feeling

There are also a lot of classical instrumental melodies that relax me a great deal, some uplifting, some moody, many or all are available legally free on the Internet, especially on YouTube. A sample:

Mozart - Concerto for Flute, Harp, and Orchestra, 2nd movement, catolog KV-299 - the first minute of this is the most beautiful music I've ever heard.

Mozart - Sonata in A Major, 1st movement, catalog KV-331

Pachelbel - Canon in D Major

Tchaikovsky - Waltz of the Flowers from The Nutcracker

Johann Strauss - Blue Danube Waltz, opus 314

Beethoven - The Moonlight Sonata

Beethoven - Fur Elise

Chopin - Nocturne in C Sharp Minor - Opus Posthumous

Bach - Air on the G String

Bach - Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring (vocal and instrumental)

Lovely Day, by Bill Withers

Three Little Birds, by Bob Marley

Sweetest Taboo, by Sade

Feels so Classic, by The Knocks

Save it for Later, The English Beat

Mack the Knife,  Bobby Darin

Doorbell, The White Stripes

I’d let you be the DJ on a road trip any day!

My musical tastes & likes vary on the mood and I enjoy a broad spectrum of music.  It might end up being pretty eclectic like @MoseySusan.

I can't believe he gets away with a comment like that. And a pass by MoseySusan.

Must be because he is so nice.

But I like a lot of disco. It reminds me of roller skating.

I Will Survive, Heart of Glass, and this one…

I am nice.  I just play mean on the internets. :)  Sort of like poking a bear kind of mean.  Mostly Susan and I are a lot alike, just polar opposite. :)

Oro se do bheatha Baile.
Not so much a happy song, but a triumphant one. Even though the medieval lyrics aren’t in English, you can pretty much tell the lyrics are ‘We went into battle against the great dragon, slayed it to death, and now we’re back at the castle to tell you about it.

Pachel's Canon:  is a known classic instrumental piece in my family.

It was played for my sister's funeral because she loved the piece.

However, the piece was also played for 3 weddings for the wedding walk to the altar, within my immediate family. I loved the  piece for several reasons /sensations. One of the sensation is approaching a magnificent mountain rising before you...as the vista unfolds above you soaring.

Below is "Gloria", baroque choral  piece. lst piece is celebratory.  Opening lines gives background.
