Dottleshead ★ Posted February 15, 2022 Share #1 Posted February 15, 2022 i ordered it off of Amazon along with some other hand therapy devices. This incessant keyboard pounding has my fragile hands and wrists feeling it's wrath. Need to keep the hands that take care of me strong, vibrant and happy.
jsharr ★ Posted February 15, 2022 Share #2 Posted February 15, 2022 Once you figure out how to get it started and the wrist motion to keep it spooled up, they give you a good workout.

Yeah they do. My old man used to own one back in the day.

I went without a piano for a long time until recently and am practicing for 30 min. to 2 hours/day: mostly some scale drills, an intermediate level version of "Memory" from Cats and the "Minuet in G" from Anna Magdelena Bach's Notebook. Fortunately, nothing like arthritis has popped up but my finger, hand, and wrist muscles are feeling it and I don't want to try anything fast until my hands get back in playing shape.
Dottleshead ★ Posted February 16, 2022 Author Share #11 Posted February 16, 2022 The gyro ball provides a good hand and arm workout. The gyro ball is a gyroscope-based workout tool, which helps the fingers, wrists, forearms, upper arms and even the shoulders gain strength. Small movement in the forearm and wrist make the ball spin faster inside the shell.

I'm officially off the Magic Spoon. I'm glad I've reached the point where it all tastes the same -- and I tire of it.
