shootingstar Posted March 3, 2022 Share #1 Posted March 3, 2022 I am referring to written English. Spoken English can be quite different in grammar and word use, especially conversational English, like any conversational language. For the STEM folks who claim language and literature study folks never get exposed to technical matters, just this list alone: English Grammar | English Language Terms - UsingEnglish.com I have a volume somewhere which is over 100 pgs. long. Figure of Speech Anadiplosis Antimetabole Aphorism Assonance Asyndeton Chiasmus Epanadiplosis Epanalepsis Epistrophe Epizeuxis Hyperbole Irony Litotes Meiosis Metaphors Oxymorons Pleonasm Polyptoton Redundancy Sarcasm Simile Spoonerism Tautology Understatement Zeugm
