If shopping for a midsize SUV, does a Mercedes GLE, BMW X5, or a Chevy Equinox seem more or less "American"?

This is from a 2022 Equinox sticker. Doesn't seem to American IMO.

This is a sticker from a 2022 Malibu. Seems "more" American :D

I would take a Japanese built car over N. American any day.  Quality control and fit/finish are superior. My wife and daughter have the same year and model of the Rav4, one built in Japan and one built in Canada.  Both good but the Japanese build is just better detailed.

There have been various studies on how often cars need repairs based on where they are built.

The Honda Fit I got was built in Japan. which had slightly better service ratings than the Fits built elsewhere in 2013.

Interesting.  Seems like Wilbur too.  My Accord was assembled in Ohio, but don't know if I had a Japan-assembled option.
