Popular Post Zephyr Posted March 10, 2022 Popular Post Share #1 Posted March 10, 2022 D2 has picked up a new puppy, a farm dog to live with and protect the cattle and goats from coyotes. She does not yet have a name. Their herding dog, with is an Aussie shepherd, blue healer cross is named 'Kora' which in the native tongue in the area where my daughter had lived in Australia means 'companion' Any suggestions? 4
jsharr ★ Posted March 10, 2022 Share #2 Posted March 10, 2022 She is sort of a blue merle aussie color. She does not have the odd colored eyes though. How about Merle?

jsharr ★ Posted March 10, 2022 Share #4 Posted March 10, 2022 Kaitiaki is a New Zealand Māori term used for the concept of guardianship, for the sky, the sea, and the land. A kaitiaki is a guardian, and the process and practices of protecting and looking after the environment are referred to as kaitiakitanga. Kai for short. ChrisL Posted March 11, 2022 Share #10 Posted March 11, 2022 Oh man it’s hard to name another persons dog. We had 2-3 names for our Aussie the first week until we came upon Cody which just felt right for her. Female Aussies are crazy protective of their heard so great choice in breed. 3

Origin of the name Lexi: Lexi came about as a shortened version of the classic Greek names Alexis and Alexander during the 1990s. These names stem from the root Greek words that mean “to defend” and “men.” 1

Hope it works well for them. We have had several guard dogs over the the years that have been very beneficial. Our last one was a Great Pyrenees. We have had some Šarplaninac and Šarplaninac-Maremma crosses. Luckily we only delt with threats from coyotes and not wolves, bears, and mountain lions.
dinneR ★ Posted March 11, 2022 Share #20 Posted March 11, 2022 There are five votes for DenniS. It seems to be winning. Every Dennis I've met is amazing. That Menace character gave us a bad rap we've been trying correct for decades.

When she was talking to the owner..., they originally wanted a male, but when the owner was sending her individual pics of the litter for them to choose from, she said "And there is another female, but I can't get a good picture of her because she won't come out of the pasture with the herd", so D2 just said "We'll take her". They went to meet her and said she is a great little pup. They still have their current big dog, Diesel, but he is 12 now so they wanted to get a new one sooner than later. Diesel is a good dog. 1
