Airehead Posted March 12, 2022 Share #1 Posted March 12, 2022 Making some to go with the corned beef. This lead me to the website from the society for the preservation of Irish soda bread. Interesting read. It took easier access to chemical leavening agents plus the potato famine to make it a staple in Irish homes. Unlike corned beef soda bread does have Irish roots.

Parsnip Totin Jack ★ Posted March 12, 2022 Share #3 Posted March 12, 2022 I make mine using a recipe from Barbara Allen. Her husband was an Irish immigrant to Boston. Barbara was a friend and neighbor to my Mom after my Dad died. It’s a good version; I make it to remember people that matter.

Ralphie ★ Posted March 12, 2022 Share #5 Posted March 12, 2022 The flat stuff was on sale for $1.99 so that seemed like a pretty good deal to me.
