Raven sign Marcus Williams (ex-Saint) to 5 year deal

Strong Safety Marcus Williams is 25 years-old, is a 5-year NFL veteran, and is one of the top Free Safeties in the NFL.

A second-round pick by New Orleans in 2017, Williams has generated 312 tackles, 15 interceptions, 38 passes defended and three forced fumbles. He's one of six players with two-plus interceptions in each of the past five seasons.

The Ravens have him for the next 5 years and the locals are celebrating.

The Ravens top defensive backs were injured all or most of last year and the replacements were the main reason the Ravens went from the #1 seed in the AFC after week 8 to and 8-9 record.

With everyone expected to be healthy for 2022, they'll be back to one of the top secondaries in the NFL, with Super All-Pro Marcus Peters and Marlon Humphrey at CB, and pro-bowl-candidate Chuck Clark at strong safety.

The Ravens had enough salary cap-space to grab an elite free agent and hit a home run with this one.  Hopefully they'll return to their normal status of a top-five defense.

The Ravens have 9 draft picks in the first four draft rounds this year and O-line and potential D-line problems are sure to be the main things addressed.

Who and who?!  🙂

Bleacher Report grades the signing as a B+ for the Ravens but yeah I had to look him up as well.

The Ravens should be a good squad again just by health alone.  Seems like a good pick up Mick.
