for crashing the bike (ebike).

You see how kids (and adults) ride those things!  Sure, the skateboard guy probably was involved, but, as I can attest, riding too fast for conditions is also a contributor.  Or not paying attention. Or not signaling a pass. Etc., etc..

Her older brother called her and eventually met us on the trail & escorted her home.

The sad part was when her mom called her and started reading her the riot act for crashing the bike (ebike).  The girl said I can’t believe you are more concerned about the bike than me & hung up on her!  Damn straight girl!

Anyway that was our good deed for the day.

What a strange terrible thing of the mother.

Some parents know more about their kids than the rest of us, but some parents also suck.

Yeah it’s hard for me to judge other parents and I don’t know what was going on with mom.  She never asked if she was OK or safe?  The lower 3 miles of SART is pretty tame compared to the sections a few miles north but still.

The girl had the call on speaker & I was riding right next to her so heard the whole thing…

I’m guessing she panicked and grabbed a handful of brake, lost traction on the gravel and went down.

About 10 minutes prior we were riding along the coast where Beanz makes his restroom stop.  There is a concrete path that T’s off the path & leads you to the ocean.  An older dude on an ebike was hauling ass (20+ MPH) up that path towards us and I figured we were obscured by fencing as he wasn’t slowing down & we were on a collision course.   I slowed & shouted out Rider!!! And dude locked up his brakes & almost went down.

Freaking nuts!
