Popular Post Parr8hed Posted March 23, 2022 Popular Post Share #1 Posted March 23, 2022 A new smoker. My old one is rusting away. Door is falling off. It is electric. Hard to control the temp. Doesn't have a thermostat you can "set". You have to use the burner control and turn it up/down to keep it in range. No big deal on a short smoke like a chicken or a pork loin, but a 12 hour brisket that you do overnight this tends to be problematic. So I bought a little trager tailgater. It folds up. Can easily go camping. We have been smoking meat more and more around the house and just using it through the week for meals. I hope this makes it easier. Just throw some pellets in it and set the temp and it will hold the temp all night. Add in your wireless meat thermometer and you are all set. I have two small briskets from my buddy that raises the cows for our freezer beef. They are thawing in the fridge.
