Cycling in DC

One great place to ride here, this time of year especially, is East Potomac Park aka Hains Point. A three mile loop on a strip of land between the DC waterfront and the Potomac river. Cherry trees are in full bloom right now.

...growing up there, Hains Point used to be a prime place to park at night and make out. I think I might have discovered how to unhook a bra at Hains Point. It was closer to my neighborhood than Rock Creek Park.

I shot this 9 years ago. A friend who lives in DC gave me a guided tour. We were a bit late for the cherry blossoms but it was still a great ride.

Great video @Rattlecan, thanks for sharing. I am very familiar with those trails but I don’t know the route from the Wilson Bridge north into DC. I will have to look that up.

Hains Point was the section of the DC Marathon that broke souls.  It was around miles 17-20 and the road was closed so no cheering fans. Just you, your mind and the point.

There were people crushed & broken sobbing on the side of the road all over the point. Really surreal to see.

Many parts of Vancouver BC  will become like this, not starting to now.
