Did We Put To Rest The "Electronic Devices" Nonsense?

Will you be fine with men not working, and letting all the chicks do the earning?  More time for video games/porn/sports radio!

This is a challenging conundrum, that is for sure!  Maybe chicks could walk to work, leaving the car in case I need more beer or somesuch.

WRONG!   My first iphone had airplane mode, I don't know of a phone that doesn't or didn't have one.  Certainly not any popular phone in the last decade or more.  As far as mountains and molehills, you and others just keep at it.  I will continue to retort against this wrongitry, though.

Wilbur has given exactly zero reasons how my powered Iphone in airplane mode is gonna crash any plane, because it is impossible unless you throw it throw the window into the engine or death-star style at the captain while also hitting the co-captain.  If you or Wilbur refuse to acknowledge my multiple posts referencing my phone in airplane mode, then that is on you.  Are you gonna acknowledge that all my posts in this topic reference my phone in airplane mode when flying?

Bless your heart.

There is no requirement to turn it off but there is airplane mode.  The reason they don't want you using it with headphones during critical phases of flight is because you need to be able to hear voice and PA commands in emergency situation.

WRONG!  See above.  I never said you can't be in airplane mode.  Off is preferred but airplane mode is acceptable.  Just don't have your music playing on headphones during critical phases of flight.  That is against the law and the reason the crew asks you to remove your headset for takeoff. They aren't being a PITA, they are enforcing the law.  So, as a Captain, I have no problem removing you from an airplane if you refuse to obey the law.  It isn't as complex as you are making it. :)

The 5G issues will cause crashes at some point unless a fix for it is found.  That is a given. There are numerous systems that rely on accurate radar altimetry including auto land features.  If an autopilot commences auto land at 500 feet above ground, the results will be splattered bodies.

Mobile phones in the past have had proven effects in lab testing and aircraft that detrimentally affect VHF communications and navigation radios.  I have never had a noticeable problem with navigation but have had a lot of comm radio interference when numerous mobile phones reach ground stations.

Oh for goodness sake!

Wilbur, just because you're an actual pilot with real experience flying big expensive planes all around the world for all those years and have all that knowledge, it's no reason to come here on the Forum splattering all your facts around like they were real and true. or something, and, like, being all insensitive, and things, too.

But does that matter? In a plane full of non-conformists, how are you still alive????

Because the odds haven't fallen in the way of a total failure yet.  Aircraft have been around a lot longer than mobile phones and aircraft systems were not designed to accommodate uninvented personal devices.  Regulation are written in blood so like MCAS, weaknesses may not be known until they cause a crash.  Once they are known, regulations change to account for new found issues.  Cell phones have caused navigation and communication problems.  So far, they have not caused a loss of life accident. This is why the transmitter portion must be off in flight.  As I stated earlier, 5G systems do cause erratic behaviour of aircraft radar altimeters and that can easily cause an accident.  So, turn them off or to Airplane mode so the transmit capability is disabled.
