Wordle for Sunday, Mother's Day (Spoiler)

I almost started with cairn. It would have revealed some letters, unlike prose. But prose revealed what not to use.

You should’ve bypassed ‘canoe’ since you already knew ‘e’ was out.

It finally happened.  They used a word I had never heard of.  I only got it on the last guess as no letter made a word I knew so I was just going through them and trying them one by one.

Canny means shrewd or showing good judgement.  So uncanny should mean poor judgement, right?  Wrong.  It means mysterious or hard to explain.

It is uncanny how the words canny and uncanny do not seem to be related to each other via the negative prefix, "un".

But people would go apoplectic at a triple letter!! We’re not ready for that yet!

I wondered that when I tried Nanny, but gave it a shot anyway.

That would have been a canny decision.  :)

Or an uncanny decision.  Whichever.  :)

Thank you! What the heck with “canny”?

“These are canny observations,” said no one ever.

I started work on the puzzle this morning, but had to abandon it before I solved it. I just pulled my third guess out of thin air before I had to go.

Was thinking a bit clearer when I finally got home.
