Ralphie ★ Posted May 11, 2022 Share #1 Posted May 11, 2022 You would think at this time of year that you would want apples from New Zealand or somewhere in the Southern Hemisphere. I bought some Romes but they were not aging well. Cameo OTOH are perfect! But they are also new York apples, so how can they be in so much better shape? They are perfectly crisp with not a hint of soft spots like the Romes have. Very tasty too! The biggest negative is they are {]}#€£ huge!
Kirby Posted May 11, 2022 Share #2 Posted May 11, 2022 I haven't had any apples recently that weren't baked in a cake. I'll need to check them out.
Ralphie ★ Posted May 11, 2022 Author Share #3 Posted May 11, 2022 Just to seal the deal, for some crazy reason they are also the cheapest of all the varieties!
Bikeguy Posted May 11, 2022 Share #4 Posted May 11, 2022 In the late summer and fall we take a 56 mile drive to a local orchard. https://www.tannersorchard.com/ It's worth the trip... Lots of good apples.
