Be sure to get a Cali address while you're here. They're supposed to send out a $400 gas relief check sometime in the future. 😄

We got the first of three $250 per taxpayer here in NM yesterday.

Beats none.  CT did a temporary hold on about 25 cents per gallon tax but the prices ate that up and more within a couple of weeks.  Price rose 25 cents per gallon between my last fill up about 2 weeks ago till this morning's.  $4.55 a gal this morning and I realize some of you are paying much much more.

If you think about it, it almost had to happen.

People were 'used' to paying (or at least expecting to pay) that price, so somebody in the gasoline supply chain saw an opportunity to pocket at least some of the difference by raising the price.

When the energy rebates from the utility companies first came out in the 80's, some amazing things happened.  Occupancy sensors that had sold for about $45, eligible for a $25/sensor rebate, went up in price to about $65 like magic soon after the rebate program started.  A second amazing feat of magic occurred when the rebates ended, whereupon the price to dropped back down to where it started.,

It’s hard to tell on my phone but I think your route is a bit north of us in SoCal.  Monterey is about 4 hours north of me.

A 4 hour drive is nothing to be able to meet international almost famous sidecar monkey Wo46.

That route is just a suggestion....I can change it.

If you dipped further south, you’d miss a lot of iconic scenery for each of those states. And we’ve been batting around the idea of spending a few days in the Breckinridge, Frisco, Dillon area in CO. It could work to be there about the time you’re moseying through.  What are your dates?
