Square Wheels Posted May 28, 2022 Author Share #3 Posted May 28, 2022 Just now, JerrySTL said: Original insoles? Yup, laces too. The sides are splitting. The past 5 or more years, they have been for mowing the lawn (I sit on a tractor). Now I need new yard shoes. 2
Square Wheels Posted May 28, 2022 Author Share #4 Posted May 28, 2022 I sent the pic to Sketchers and asked if they are still under warranty. I told them I was kidding and asked if they wanted them for quality issues. See what held up, what didn't...
groupw Posted May 28, 2022 Share #5 Posted May 28, 2022 When I was running, I was going through a couple pairs/year. They would go from running to walking to yard work before they were retired. Even so there were favorites. I still have a pair of Brooks Connect 2s that I keep as driving shoes. They are narrow soles and thin enough I can feel the pedals well in the Miata. Not sure what I will do if they fall apart because they don’t make them anymore.

This will probably be the last year for them, I’m not moving them to Ohio.
Bikeguy Posted May 28, 2022 Share #8 Posted May 28, 2022 My mowing boots look similar. WoBG sits on the JD a bit more than 2 hours. I get to use the push mower for 2 hours trimming around the trees and bushes, etc...

I did and do the same except for the yard wok as I don’t have a yard. I got some new ASICS last year and kinda started running in them but mainly wear them as walking shoes. But I don’t wear them for kicking around, I have some beaters for that.
petitepedal ★ Posted May 28, 2022 Share #10 Posted May 28, 2022 I use to have mowing shoes...but they would turn green...but. I still follow the same rule... 1 inside pair for the gym..which did usually get worn on the street..from the gym, to car to home ..At the end of 1 year for the gym they became my outdoor walking shoes...and then depending on use..I might keep a spare pair in my trunk or at work..and toss the most worn pair

Now, 99% of my running is on my treadmill. When I ran outside I'd convert them to walking shoes once they started to wear through the first layer of the bottom. Now I need to try to be more aware and feel when the cushion starts to go. I've been running in Brooks for years.
