Further Posted June 25, 2022 Share #1 Posted June 25, 2022 The year I graduated from high school watching the sunset was a nightly event. There was an overlook outside of town that had an excellent view A couple dozen kids would assemble every night and witness the suns sinking, there was usually beer and smoke, plan’s would be made and another night would start It really was magical, the days labor sank with sun, and the night beckoned, unknown adventures awaiting. Anticipation was usually greater than reality, but every night was a new adventure, and sometimes the reality was better than the dream
donkpow Posted June 25, 2022 Share #2 Posted June 25, 2022 Nope. And I was an avid pot smoker.
Airehead Posted June 25, 2022 Share #3 Posted June 25, 2022 Yes, when I can find time to relax on the porch and watch it sink. Also the time the turkeys settle in the trees and the deer visit to eat stuff. 2
TrentonMakes Posted June 25, 2022 Share #4 Posted June 25, 2022 The kids and I went out to dinner a couple weeks ago, and then we walked around a nearby state park. On our way out, we saw dozens of cars and apparently HS students milling about in a parking lot on a hill, clearly preparing to watch the sunset. It made me happy to see that. But for me, watching the sunset has always been an occasional, opportunistic thing.
Kirby Posted June 25, 2022 Share #5 Posted June 25, 2022 Not really. My condo has a better view of sunrises than sunsets, so I tend to notice them more, but will stop and appreciate a sunset if I actually see one

JerrySTL ★ Posted June 26, 2022 Share #10 Posted June 26, 2022 Yes. For many years I worked swing shifts outside so I got to see sunsets. I also got my fair share of sunrises when I worked mid shift.
ChrisL Posted June 26, 2022 Share #11 Posted June 26, 2022 Not so much now due to the crowds but from Labor Day to Memorial Day we go to the beach 2-3 X a week after dinner to walk Jack & watch the sunset.
MickinMD ★ Posted June 28, 2022 Share #12 Posted June 28, 2022 I've enjoyed it a lot when I've been in places with low, open western horizons. From the houses I've lived in, building have blocked a good view of the sunset.
Wilbur ★ Posted June 28, 2022 Share #13 Posted June 28, 2022 Nothing beats an evening flight to NA from Europe. You have sunset all the way across the Atlantic.
