Popular Post dinneR ★ Posted July 17, 2022 Popular Post Share #1 Posted July 17, 2022 We just rode the Red Meadow Pass Loop in MT. We took four days instead of three and really enjoyed the scenery and solitude. The bonus was being in Glacier NP on the day before Going to the Sun rd opened for car traffic. We were able to ride a portion of it without cars. Day 1 Whitefish to Upper Whitefish Lake. We took a cold swim in the lake just before sunset. 5

Popular Post dinneR ★ Posted July 17, 2022 Author Popular Post Share #4 Posted July 17, 2022 Day three Polebridge to Apgar. We rode in GNP and followed the Flathead River. The wildflowers were amazing, mindblowing. We followed a falcon for a few miles. 7

Popular Post dinneR ★ Posted July 17, 2022 Author Popular Post Share #6 Posted July 17, 2022 Day four Going to the Sun. This was a bonus. I did not think we'd get to ride the road. It was the last day before it opened to cars. We decided to take advantage of the opportunity. We had camped at Sprague Creek. We took off late and went up the road until we realized we had 30 miles to ride to Columbia Falls. By the end of the day we were wiped out. We had ridden up Going to the Sun on fully loaded mt bikes. We got to Columbia Falls late, showered, made dinner, and crashed hard. 7

I think I was in the water for 30 minutes. I was the only one brave stupid enough to go fully under water. We swam in St. Mary's Lake in Glacier on day three. That was much warmer. We did not swim in Read Meadow Lake. It was raining when we got there and there was snow on the shoreline. 5

Gump Posted July 17, 2022 Share #12 Posted July 17, 2022 Because the GTS will be open to cars when we go in August we have to be off the road by 11 am. Our plan is for a 6:30am start at trail of the Cedars teailhead and ride to Logan Pass and back. It’s only 15 miles but all uphill😟

The lower section is easy going. Then it kicks up. I think the hard part will be how often do you want to stop for pics. The views are amazing. the road gets really narrow as you climb. 5

Traffic coming down will slow you otherwise, you'd be faster.

dinneR ★ Posted July 18, 2022 Author Share #22 Posted July 18, 2022 We saw this in Ennis on our way home. The woman riding it was all about the bling. Her hair was dyed bright red, her jeans were pink, and her boots had flames. 1
