Ralphie ★ Posted November 15, 2014 Share #1 Posted November 15, 2014 I just watched the PBS show on Henry Ford last night, and it was very well done. I like music ones - 20 Feet from Stardom, Still Bill, The Sapphires, Stop Making Sense, one on Neil Young, etc. How aboot The Last Waltz (The Band)? I noticed the Natalie Cole story on Youtube which might be good.

Ralphie ★ Posted November 15, 2014 Author Share #4 Posted November 15, 2014 Thanks, SW - sounds good, even though I am not much of a Jack White fan, but I'll give it a shot. It seems very familiar, like maybe I saw it or at least started it before. Rotten Tomatoes seems pretty favourable on it: Critics Consensus: An affectionate tribute to rock's most distinctive instrument, It Might Get Loud is insightful and musically satisfying. And Chris, that is full service- thanks! Not my usual interest, but expanding horizons is good.

Ralphie ★ Posted November 15, 2014 Author Share #6 Posted November 15, 2014 Sound City Sounds good! Boy, Dave Grohl is fast becoming a rock and roll Renaissance Man. I have very fond memories of listening to his first Foo Fighters CD - I loved it, but I remember there was some criticism about it being "just the same old demos Dave Grohl has been shopping around for years". kingtermite Posted November 15, 2014 Share #8 Posted November 15, 2014 I've heard Restrepo was a good war documentary (although a little graphic). If you want to watch a great movie about health and nutrition and eating right, watch Hungry For Change.
Solution Thaddeus Kosciuszko Posted November 15, 2014 Solution Share #9 Posted November 15, 2014 I would suggest a documentary about life and people's views of the afterlife. It's called 'Dracula - Dead and Loving It'.

I think the deal is Dave likes to do what Dave likes to do. He's never really worried about whether it's really commercial or not. He writes and plays what he likes to hear. If it makes him good living, so much the better.
