Airehead Posted August 17, 2022 Share #1 Posted August 17, 2022 Grateful it is food for my car and not a bread line. 🍞 1

At Costco, which is actually the closest gas station to my work. Two others no longer sell gas.

Being retired, I find that 10:30 am lets me beat the gas lines at the local Costco. The last couple of fill-ups I was able to drive right up to a pump. If I wait until about 4:30 pm, I'll be 4th in line at best. I got gas last week at Costco for $3.699/gal. A few days later I realized I needed 2 gallons of gas for the lawnmower and drove to the Sunoco closer to me. It was $3.859.
groupw Posted August 18, 2022 Share #6 Posted August 18, 2022 My car needed gas. I was late getting out of work which meant I was in the real rush hour. I couldn’t even get to the turning lane for my preferred station. I had to exchange my defective tube at REI so I figured I might try the line there. Ummm. No. A storm started to roll in earlier than predicted. Figured I would get a few gallons near home to get me through tomorrow.
Razors Edge ★ Posted August 18, 2022 Share #7 Posted August 18, 2022 I get a line at Costco. Costco ALWAYS has a line. And maybe a steeply discounted no-name gas place, but everywhere else seems open and lots of quick in-and-out refueling. Paid $3.37 this morning. BuffJim Posted August 18, 2022 Share #8 Posted August 18, 2022 Haven’t hit gas lines yet. Read an interesting and sad story about food shortages around the world. Many people who have had decent access to food for decades, are struggling. Makes me appreciate what we have, and dislike people complaining that their food isn’t perfect enough. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-62520673.amp 1
