Cooked cabbage, two ways

Sautéed in butter and olive oil with onion, red pepper, garlic, red chile flakes, cumin, salt and pepper. 
Sautéed in butter and olive oil with onion, carrot, green apple, brown sugar, thyme, celery seed, salt and pepper.

Olive oil for the flavor?

I find butter is sooo good with cabbage (and many other sautéed veg), that I would likely skip the OO.  My wife has jumped to avocado oil for a lot of stuff too.  EVOO for non-cooking (like dressings) and butter or avocado oil for the sautéing.

She also has been making tasty sauerkraut when we have brats or similar.  Cabbage is tasty!
