Popular Post Parsnip Totin Jack ★ Posted September 17, 2022 Popular Post Share #1 Posted September 17, 2022 Apparently we have a neighborhood pair. I was sitting on the sunset bench tonight enjoying a second beer. Eight feet away waddles a healthy skunk in a westerly direction. Keep waddling pilgrim. 4

Which would be a sign to me to very quietly start waddling in an easterly direction. 1
ChrisL Posted September 17, 2022 Share #3 Posted September 17, 2022 We used to see them in Ft Myer & Belvoir all the time. I once saw 4 heavily armed soldiers run like sissy girls when their position was over run by a skunk. We had one of our K9’s tear a skunk to pieces once, freaking gruesome & smelly…
maddmaxx ★ Posted September 17, 2022 Share #4 Posted September 17, 2022 They wander around my deck in the middle of the night looking for spilled seed from the bird feeders.
donkpow Posted September 17, 2022 Share #5 Posted September 17, 2022 They devastate the sweet corn when they get through the electric fence. They also dig up the yard looking for grubs. I caught a young one in the cat food bowl last week. Shooed him away with a stick. Freaked him out.

I have finally learned to not put stuff in the bait pile (an area out back where I put scraps for the woodland creatures). My husband's cat has a thing about taunting skunks. Guess who gets the worst of it. Other than that, I have no qualms with skunks.
