Popular Post shootingstar Posted September 18, 2022 Popular Post Share #1 Posted September 18, 2022 Because a photo is needed, I kept delaying due to home messes, other stuff including work.... these are surprises from Sunshine Committee over 3 wks. ago in between personal difficult trip to Vancouver and then later, happier trip To Toronto. The tea mug comes in its own embroidered hard case with 4 tiny tea cups nestled in its mug womb. Then the last gift was a bk of poems "Devotions". I've photographed a poem from it, that I really like. They are poems that require slow reading, a few each day. My hugs and thx! 5
Popular Post shootingstar Posted September 18, 2022 Author Popular Post Share #2 Posted September 18, 2022 I did recover my name chop. My mother wrote how to write my full name. My lst name is at the bottom, in traditional Chinese individual is subservient to the family. Middle is my middle name..shared with same middle name with my sisters. A sister went on vacation with her hubby to HK over 20 years ago. She bought name chops for each of us. So mother wrote out stroke by stroke for each of us. EAch sheet is tucked inside the name chop box. Yes, it is genuinely a individual family heirloom. And my mother is 88. None of us know how to write Chinese. I'm certain people wonder why bother giving a Chinese name if the person can't write it? My response: but I can speak and hear the names in Chinese. I recognize names when spoken in Chinese. I am occasionally addressed by her, by my Chinese first name...not often. My English name is used in Chinese speech. My first name means: Precious or Highly Treasured. My middle name means: Orchid I thank my parents for giving us beautiful names. 3

I just found out what my youngest sister's Chinese name, Ling Ling means: darling little girl. When you say it (and a zoo panda in China was given this name ), it sounds like a little tinkling bell. I thought it sounded so perfect for baby youngest sister.
