In the Monk episode, a woman on a bicycle named Julie is killed by a hit-and-run driver. Monk observes that she has reflectors, mirrors, etc. and is obviously safety conscious and asks, "So why was she riding on the wrong side of the road?" I get that it’s TV but they also could have checked for post mortem lividity and known the body was moved.
