bikeman564™ Posted September 26, 2022 Share #1 Posted September 26, 2022 This is not a parody. I never knew what the population was in my city over the years so this is the info on Wiki. Same now as it was in 1960 With a up/down tick in the 70s/80s.

Before that, it was a couple farms in the middle of nowhere. @Old No. 7 probably remembers. But, basically, probably adding a few percentage points year.
Parsnip Totin Jack ★ Posted September 26, 2022 Share #3 Posted September 26, 2022 We moved to Virginia in 1972. Reston was under development but there was more on paper than on the ground. The Bowman Distillery was right on the W&OD at Old Reston Ave. Old man Bowman set up there as it was close to water, cornfields, and the railroad. 1
ChrisL Posted September 26, 2022 Share #4 Posted September 26, 2022 My area really boomed post WW II when a nearby Army Air Base closed, the land was annexed by the city and many of the servicemen who rotated through there said damn, the weather is pretty nice in coastal SoCal…

You're in the same weight class as @bikeman564™! Maybe we can schedule a "friendly" between you two!

You can see that by the property and rent prices. 1

Maybe we can schedule a "friendly" between you two! Not sure we are in the same weight class... the 'local' population in our town is about the same. But... The 3 state parks, the river and the town get millions of visitors a year. Just one of the state parks gets more than 2 million visitors a year. We have some GREAT places to eat and visit locally. You just need to know when to go to these places to avoid the herd.
