That happened to me too, funny how quick people will back off.

Further Posted September 29, 2022 Share #7 Posted September 29, 2022 More than I should have. The getting shot scenario crosses my mind whenever instinct takes over and the bird flies before I think, now a days
Dirtyhip Posted September 29, 2022 Share #8 Posted September 29, 2022 None. I did say "FUCKING HELL!" this morning. I was trying to go along with traffic using the right side of the road. This car came out and te driver was not looking my way at all. I was ready for him to puyll in front of me or squish me. I did a track stand which seemed like forever, and then I finally yelled to myself and rode behind his stupid car. He had pulled out half way into the road as he looked the other way. Idiot! Riding my bike for one of the last times on a route around the town of my old home, probably in the fall of 2018. A guy in a mustang approaching from the other direction, turns left into a parking lot and nearly runs over me. I had to swerve to the left, and I gave him the single finger salute. He yelled back at me. I was upset to say the least... so I stop and yelled FU back at hm. Then we had a short discussion... and I explained that this is how I react to people who try to kill me. It's a provocation to the violent among us. 1
Longjohn ★ Posted September 30, 2022 Share #11 Posted September 30, 2022 I never do that in the daytime but at night when I am blinded by high beam headlights or those stupid blue laser beam headlights I often do. It’s dark, the gesture goes unnoticed.

The getting shot scenario crosses my mind whenever instinct takes over and the bird flies before I think, now a days That's the problem, instinct happens faster than logic. Many years ago, I nearly flipped off a car that skimmed past me going up a small hill on a double yellow line. He forced me onto the gravel shoulder and my instinct kicked in. Luckily, I caught myself in time to just raise a fist at the county sheriff, rather than give him a one fingered salute. He stopped, we had words, he said "I gave you as much room as I could", I chose not to provoke him any further...

But, his decision to pass was before my rude gesture.
