TrentonMakes Posted December 4, 2014 Share #12 Posted December 4, 2014 Wait a min.... you live in NJ...... where (besides a grocery store) are you gonna find mushrooms growing in the wild? A few years ago we had some mushrooms that popped up in a mulch bed in our NJ backyard. My dad seemed pretty sure they were morels but I wasn't going to try them: I haven't read a book like the one pictured above.
KrAzY Posted December 4, 2014 Share #13 Posted December 4, 2014 There are a lot of mushrooms out there that look like others... never eat one unless you are damn sure it is one you know is safe.

jsharr ★ Posted December 4, 2014 Share #17 Posted December 4, 2014 When we lived in Oklahoma, we would go pick mushrooms to eat. The only ones that I remember picking were white morels. As I recall, we would harvest them, clean them and then saute them in butter.

Mr. Silly Posted December 4, 2014 Share #21 Posted December 4, 2014 It all sounds so much more satisfying than apple picking, which seems pointless to me. Where does one find mushrooms to pick? Some women at my sister's prison were looking for a buzz so they found some mushrooms and boiled them into a tea. A little while later they were set to the hospital because they foaming at the mouth. Choose your mushrooms wisely.

I have made homemade mushroom soup with the ones in my yard. It turned out really good.
