The few times I've driven through Montana on I-90 going to-and-from Yellowstone National Park, etc. I've been impressed with how flat most of the state is and how "Big Sky Country" really fits.

Then you get to the mountains in the West.  The first time there, I drove back-and-forth-and-back-and-forth up the switch-back road, climbing up to Beartooth Pass, then on to Cooke City and Silvergate, where I stayed at the Range Rider Lodge near Yellowstone's NE Entrance.
