Fed up with answering to higher-ups, Nick, Dale and Kurt decide to become their own bosses by launching their own business. But a slick investor soon pulls the rug out from under them. Outplayed and desperate, and with no legal recourse, the three would-be entrepreneurs hatch a misguided plan to kidnap the investor's adult son and ransom him to regain control of their company. Even the normally poised Jennifer Aniston got flustered when Conan asked her about the "sex scene" that was cut from Horrible Bosses 2. "It was kind of, not even mutual, you know? I'm not gonna say it," she stammers. "Charlie Day's character is in a coma. And I exploit him whilst he's in a coma." Yeah, that's Jennifer Aniston tiptoeing around the word "rape." Wisely, they cut the scene, although Aniston suggests it might be in the DVD extras. Conan keeps things light, but it's clear that the whole thing is pretty uncomfortable. It feels warm in here. Are you warm? Horrible Bosses updated Nine to Five for modern-day audiences a few summers ago and did well around the world (no surprise, given the title and its relatable premise). Last summer, a harder-to-market project about a small-time pot dealer who created a fake family in order to get a shipment of weed across the US/Mexico border performed even better than HB, so it's no surprise to see We're the Millers screenwriter Sean Anders get the call to direct and co-write HB2 (Anders's phone must be burning hot right now since he also is credited for Dumb and Dumber To's screenplay).
