If you're talking about getting from one state to the next without crossing another state, then Alaska and Hawaii have it nailed. If you travel by water you hit every state that borders an ocean. 1

MickinMD ★ Posted November 30, 2022 Share #9 Posted November 30, 2022 Bordering on other states can be good. Maryland borders on West Virginia, which is portrayed as such a backward state that it makes Marylanders feel good about themselves and say that West Virginia's state motto is, "Nothin' says lovin' like marryin' your cousin." Maryland also donated the land for Washington, D.C., the smartest financial thing it did because it has resulted in huge numbers of excellent federal jobs with pensions within Maryland from Fort Meade to the National Institutes of Health to Goddard Space Flight Center to National Social Security Headquarters, etc. etc. Maryland also borders on Pennsylvania and Virginia which, along with West Virginia, send a lot of their sons and daughters to Maryland because there are good-paying jobs here. Many Marylanders move there, yet still work in Maryland, because of much lower property costs. And Maryland borders on Delaware, where some retirees go because of very low taxes. It's all good.
