Kzoo Posted December 13, 2014 Share #3 Posted December 13, 2014 Have you ever had an egg from a fake chicken? I understand that they're low in cholesterol.
Road Runner Posted December 13, 2014 Share #4 Posted December 13, 2014 Have you ever had an egg from a fake chicken? I understand that they're low in cholesterol. So when you go to the store and buy eggs that come in those styrofoam cartons, how do you know if they are eggs from real chickens or from fake chickens? I don't think it is labeled on the carton anywhere.
Kzoo Posted December 13, 2014 Share #5 Posted December 13, 2014 So when you go to the store and buy eggs that come in those styrofoam cartons, how do you know if they are eggs from real chickens or from fake chickens? I don't think it is labeled on the carton anywhere. It's on the bottom. You have to turn the cartons upside down. If it's not marked there, ask someone that works in the egg department. They will know for sure.
SuzieQ Posted December 13, 2014 Share #6 Posted December 13, 2014 Know where your eggs come from, and for that matter the rest of your food! http://www.veganpeace.com/animal_cruelty/eggs.htm

team scooter Posted December 13, 2014 Share #9 Posted December 13, 2014 We've just recently discovered that the eggs we've been buying from our local grocer for years, come from a farm only a few miles away.
Longjohn ★ Posted December 13, 2014 Share #10 Posted December 13, 2014 Our grocer always sold eggs from a chicken farm a few miles outside of town. The farmer retired and turned the operation over to his kids who didn't want to do all the work involved. The kids closed down the chicken houses but kept the business. I don't know where they get their eggs now, probably from robotic chickens? Our grocer still sells them.
petitepedal ★ Posted December 13, 2014 Author Share #11 Posted December 13, 2014 Well...maybe it is due to the freshness...or my water temp since it was boiling a bit before I actually got to the cooking part...but I had 2 lovely poached eggs today... Longjohn ★ Posted December 13, 2014 Share #12 Posted December 13, 2014 I could easily poach some chickens if I wanted to.
