tybeegb Posted December 15, 2014 Share #1 Posted December 15, 2014 Now we need the warm weather. These are mainly from the south end of the island where most of the tourons populate. The last pictures were taken from the pier looking north, then south where the last of the piping is still left to pick up.
goldendesign Posted December 15, 2014 Share #2 Posted December 15, 2014 Nice! Reclaimed the sand offshore, correct?
tybeegb Posted December 15, 2014 Author Share #3 Posted December 15, 2014 Yes, the sand was dredged from about a mile and a half offshore, just south of the pier. Last time they did this they pumped it from the river channel and it was a clumpy clay-like mess, so this time they did it right. In the second picture, on the far left side in the water, you can just see the dredge. Every time I saw the pipe I kept thinking of that movie 'Grumpy Old Men', where Burgess Meredith said, "I laid a lot of pipe in that town."
