Popular Post shootingstar Posted December 31, 2022 Popular Post Share #1 Posted December 31, 2022 Didn't want to cook for tonight and the pizza place was closed after 2:00pm. So had to go further a field. Settled for a smoked salmon on cream cheese bagel with capers, onion and big pickle on side. And Sunshine Committee's gift mug from awhile ago with tea with soft gingerbread cookie. It's a big mug. Looking forward to ...2023, Year of the Rabbit!! 3 2 2
MoseySusan ★ Posted January 1 Share #2 Posted January 1 Your gingerbread looks yummy. I made ground beef soft tacos with refried beans. mr. is home from his ski vacation. I’m staying up late tonight so I can stargaze and prep the goose for roasting tomorrow.

How different does goose taste? Try something different? Traditional Germans would roast a goose. However, we never made such dish. I instantly latched to the Banff hoodie several yrs. ago. for colour and design...the yr. was the establishment of it as a national park. Canada's lst. Or it was going to be a reuben sandwich with not just sauerkraut, but also with cheese. From dietary perspective, took the lighter road.

A bit carby for me so I don’t go there often.

I wish my place did put a slice of tomato on top of their version.

ChrisL Posted January 1 Share #10 Posted January 1 Made Indonesian chicken soup on a cool rainy night. Soto Ayam, chicken stock, tumeric, garlic, lemongrass & ginger. Chicken, onion & glass noodles topped with green onion, cilantro & bean sprouts. I hit it with a dash of sriracha. 2

I used to get the seasoning packets but lately have made it from scratch. It’s really easy to make.

I always have trouble figuring out lemongrass. Too much, too little, too long, etc.

A couple of weeks ago I made a dish that required lemon grass and found these little tubes of lemon grass paste. It’s easier to control flavor with the paste.

I've enjoyed the black 'n white movie version, where Alistair MacLean plays Ebeneezer. For awhile, we watched every Christmas for several years in a row.

Kirby ★ Posted January 1 Share #18 Posted January 1 Looks yummy! I made myself a whiskey sour for NYE. My Dad always made whiskey sours for us and that was the family drink for special events or no reason at all. So a couple weeks ago I got some whiskey and sour mix and planned to make a drink for Christmas. But some things came up and I never got to make the drink on Christmas so I made it tonight. 3

Cheese would say that was a respectable drink. 2 1

I asked my Dad once why he always made whiskey sours for us and he said that when he first started it was a proper drink for a woman so he could make it for my Mom and it just continued over the decades. .

When the Pat's played the Seahawks in the Superbowl, J had no idea who I was gonna root for until the game started and I started watching and found myself hoping for the Pat's. (Well Brady actually) Just watch and you will find yourself hoping for one over the other
