What pisses me off is I prefer vegetarian food but still my weight creeps up. I need to back off on the nuts for snacking.

Walnuts are one of my favorite snacks. Evidnelty they really don't have as many calories as listed on the package because humans can't completely digest them.

snacking

I need to STOP this.

The food we have is OK.   It's the snacking....

And of course there is a box of Christmas cookies still intact here.   I suspect that may change...  :(

I asked WoBG.... why?   'They were on sale.'   :(:(

I haven't been able to ride my bicycle outside for weeks now due to the weather.

Indoor cycling isn't lots of fun, but it keeps me in some sort of shape until the weather gets warmer.  Maybe look into some sort of indoor apparatus?

I do get on the stationary bikes at the YMCA plus the rowing machines but after about 45 - 60 minutes, I can't take it anymore. Same goes with walking laps around the indoor track. 13 laps per mile makes doing even 3 miles boring.

This is why my indoor exercise bike is in front of a TV.  It is still boring, but if something is good on TV, it makes the time go by faster.  :)

Hell, I have a hard time doing two laps around the one mile park loop, but podcasts instead of pure music do help. :)

And that's why we like walking our dogs every day.  Sure the trail is the same, but the dogs make it interesting.   Parker HATES other dogs.   It's always fun to watch Parker, 18 pounds and no teeth, start barking and growling at some 100 pound dog.   Bella has fun staking and chasing squirrels.

Yesterday walking on the river trail I noticed a big bird flying over the river and it swoops in and lands in a tree just down the trail in front of us.  I though it was a hawk, and I told Parker... look out he wants to eat you for breakfast.

When we got closer... I realized this was a BIG bird and it could indeed probably eat Parker.   Not the best picture... but the eagle watched us the entire time as we walked by.

Yeah...  it's not riding my bike... but is isn't boring.  I hate indoor riding.  The most I can do is ride my rollers for maybe 30 minutes.   So we walk the dogs instead.

" Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t how hard you hit; it’s about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done. Now, if you know what you’re worth, then go out and get what you’re worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hit, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you are because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain’t you. You’re better than that."  Rocky Balboa

I was at my panic weight of 190 shortly after we moved down here. The lack of regular workouts before the move and unpacking and adjusting to the new town and work environment took their toll.
I adjusted my diet, found workout routines that work better around my job and I found ways to add activity at work as well.   I’ve been slowly chipping away and I’m down to 176 as of yesterday. Hoping to keep on track moving forward.

Yep. It's a drag on fitness for sure.  And rides in the colder weather are rarely as vigorous as rides in the blissful spring, summer, and fall seasons.   Just gotta get through the dark times and back to the good times in a few months.
