Popular Post JerrySTL ★ Posted January 1 Popular Post Share #1 Posted January 1 210.2 lbs this morning. I was at 203 lbs at the end of November. Going on a cruise just before the Holidays wasn't a good way to keep my weight down. Plus I haven't been able to ride my bicycle outside for weeks now due to the weather. 2 2

Evidnelty they really don't have as many calories as listed on the package because humans can't completely digest them.

And of course there is a box of Christmas cookies still intact here. I suspect that may change... I asked WoBG.... why? Indoor cycling isn't lots of fun, but it keeps me in some sort of shape until the weather gets warmer. Maybe look into some sort of indoor apparatus?
petitepedal ★ Posted January 1 Share #10 Posted January 1 Well...I sure noticed a change in my psoriasis between Thanksgiving and now...I am guessing sugar over fat. But yeah...healthier choices are on my agenda or menu..or..maybe both.

Same goes with walking laps around the indoor track. 13 laps per mile makes doing even 3 miles boring.

This is why my indoor exercise bike is in front of a TV. It is still boring, but if something is good on TV, it makes the time go by faster. 2
shootingstar Posted January 1 Share #13 Posted January 1 I'm going to have my Christmas cookie that I bought yesterday. With tea. It will be a late breakfast. Yogurt and cornflakes, with milk as regular. I still have a 1.5 yr. old unopened box of Girl Guide cookies.

Hell, I have a hard time doing two laps around the one mile park loop, but podcasts instead of pure music do help.
az_cyclist Posted January 1 Share #15 Posted January 1 my panic weight is 195. Currently 183.5, up from 180 when I had the flu. I would like to stay at 185 or less 1

Sure the trail is the same, but the dogs make it interesting. Parker HATES other dogs. It's always fun to watch Parker, 18 pounds and no teeth, start barking and growling at some 100 pound dog. Bella has fun staking and chasing squirrels. Yesterday walking on the river trail I noticed a big bird flying over the river and it swoops in and lands in a tree just down the trail in front of us. I though it was a hawk, and I told Parker... look out he wants to eat you for breakfast. When we got closer... I realized this was a BIG bird and it could indeed probably eat Parker. Not the best picture... but the eagle watched us the entire time as we walked by. Yeah... it's not riding my bike... but is isn't boring. I hate indoor riding. The most I can do is ride my rollers for maybe 30 minutes. So we walk the dogs instead. 2
Ralphie ★ Posted January 1 Share #17 Posted January 1 I was able to easily walk the one mile park trail loop twice withoot excessive boredom by listening to a new to me podcast, The Hidden Brian, while walking it.
2Far Posted January 1 Share #18 Posted January 1 I didn’t put on any weight over Thanksgiving, but gained 8 pounds in the next three weeks. I am still less than a year ago.
donkpow Posted January 1 Share #19 Posted January 1 " Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t how hard you hit; it’s about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done. Now, if you know what you’re worth, then go out and get what you’re worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hit, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you are because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain’t you. You’re better than that." Longjohn ★ Posted January 2 Share #21 Posted January 2 At my doctor appointment Wednesday I was up to 187#. That is 37# up from a year ago. I don’t cringe when I get out of the shower and see myself in the mirror anymore. 2
groupw Posted January 2 Share #22 Posted January 2 I was at my panic weight of 190 shortly after we moved down here. The lack of regular workouts before the move and unpacking and adjusting to the new town and work environment took their toll. I adjusted my diet, found workout routines that work better around my job and I found ways to add activity at work as well. I’ve been slowly chipping away and I’m down to 176 as of yesterday. Hoping to keep on track moving forward. 1
Razors Edge ★ Posted January 2 Share #23 Posted January 2 23 hours ago, JerrySTL said: Plus I haven't been able to ride my bicycle outside for weeks now due to the weather. Yep. It's a drag on fitness for sure. And rides in the colder weather are rarely as vigorous as rides in the blissful spring, summer, and fall seasons. Just gotta get through the dark times and back to the good times in a few months.
Chris... Posted January 2 Share #24 Posted January 2 I don’t have a panic weight. But I did hit 228lbs in July. Down to 211lbs as of yesterday 1
