Unable and not able are interchangeable, synonymous. Marking up that sign was the act of a pedant. :)

So, for the pedants among us, use not able when circumstances arise that prevent an action that would otherwise occur. I am not able to post content in The Cafe without WiFi. Use unable to describe long-standing inability. I am unable to lay off discussions about grammar.

Described so clearly.

Please don’t not misunderstand this!

I like this response. I felt like the sign was defaced in a way to make it LESS understandable, and not better in any way.  Either strike through the "unable" and add that "not able" or scratch through just the "un" and leave the rest alone.  Otherwise, that sign is sort of saying "not unable" which is just dopey by the azzclown doing the defacing.

I don't use Apple Pay.  I PayPal on occasion.  Otherwise, I use 7 credit or store cards that give me 2% to 5% cash-back, the 5% usually from Discover and Chase Freedom Visa that rotate 5% every 3 months: gasoline, restaurants, hardware stores, etc.

Right now, from Jan-Mar '23, Discover is giving 5% cash-back for groceries (non Walmart, Costco, etc. warehouse stores) and drugstores and Chase Freedom Visa is doing groceries the same way except it's also doing 5% cash-back for anything at Target.  From Oct-Dec. '22 Chase Freedom Visa gave 5% off at Walmart which Walmart automatically processes through a phone app.  I changed the default card on the app back on Jan. 1 to the Capital One Walmart Mastercard which does 2% cash back in the store and 5% at Walmart Online.

For 2022, I earned $1258.04 in cash-back and sales with virtually no effort and expect $1000 or more for 2023.  I don't clip coupons anymore because it's too much effort for too little gain and it tempted me to buy things I might not otherwise buy.

The Citi Costco Anywhere Visa is a great card: 2% off Costco merchandise, 3% off restaurants including bar-restaurants, 4% off gasoline at Costco and at "stand alone stations" like Exxon, etc.  I got $134 in cash-back with it in 2022 for 2021's usage - when I restocked my house's interior after it was rebuilt: new TV, recliner, etc. - and earned $58 in 2022's usage with will become a gift card in February to be spent at Costco or converted to cash at Costco.  So when I say I paid $2.859/gal. the last two times I got gas at Costco, I should add I get $0.114 off that because of the 4% cash-back.

Apple Pay is an app that lets you use those cards through your phone instead of swiping or inserting into a chip reader.
