Did we talk Christmas vacations yet?

11 days off!!!  Woohoo!

Spent the 23rd  & 24th relaxing - well, actually arguing with the cable company because they insisted their (many) tests said everything was fine but every time the wind gusted, the internet went out.  Then there was the pipe in the music room at church that burst 20 minutes before the first Mass.  Good times.  All went well after that.

Christmas day(s), big family sleepover at BiL's, then I get a WHOLE WEEK to finally catch up on MY stuff while Wife is at work.  Nice plan.  On the way to BiL's house, Jr. Wife informed me that I was driving her and her sister south to clean up some buildings left by her recently deceased brother.  Apparently, I was supposed to have already known this.

Had to wait for cable guy, who took one look at the wires and replaced it all.  But long enough to get stuck in traffic.  North of DC to mid Richmond, 20MPH max.  Made for a LONG drive.  Almost as bad on the way back a few days later.

Most of the weekend plans got crushed by a stomach bug running around.

the best laid plans.....

I decided to not take any days off for the holidays.  Since the eves and the holidays were Sat/Sun, I worked Fridays and Mondays.  I didn't work hard but I got stuff done and I was able to stay out of WoKzoo's way as she scurried for the holidays.  Even though we had to postpone Christmas because she wasn't feeling 100%, it still helped her to have me out from under foot.

Ah,  Sorry for the less than fun vacation.

Are you feeling better?

No one in our house got sick, just other people who we had plans with.

Not sure how, Jr. Wife was already sick with a respiratory flu, coughing all the way home in the closed up truck.

I had to do a little work, but was able to take 4 day weekends for both Christmas and New Years and blocks of time in between.  Our plans got delayed due to a variety of things, and it was almost wrong how happy I was to have 3 days in a row where I didn't have to go out of the house except to take out the garbage.

I had 2 weeks off and took yesterday as well.  Today was my first day back and I have Friday off.  And today is going to be a snoozer.   Basically I work tomorrow and then the weekend.  Of course I'm getting an implant on Friday so not exactly play time but it's not work.

I had 3 work days off around Christmas and before New Year's.  It was nice, if not also slightly dull. At least I wasn't caught in nightmare airports' messes.  I slept better too.

Now work is ramping differently after Jan. 1, since a team member has defected to another dept. permanently
