Popular Post petitepedal ★ Posted January 4 Popular Post Share #1 Posted January 4 For me...it is a dark grey 3quarter length sleeve top..a tad sturdier than a typical t-shirt..but nothing fancy..it is about 37 years in my possession.. A French made top..hand me down from when I taught at the boarding school in Colorado. It has a tiny hole..and for a knitted fabric..it isn't getting bigger.. I would say I go in spurts as to wearing it..but probably ..a regular 7 months of the year. I put it on the other day and started thinking about how old it was Some spendy tops start looking rough after a year..this thing wears like iron. 4

Popular Post UglyBob Posted January 4 Popular Post Share #3 Posted January 4 Do shoes count? I have a pair of cowboy boots that I'm the third generation to wear. They were my great-uncle's. When he passed, my father got them and had then rebuilt. When my father passed, I got them. I still wear them on special occasions, along with the cowboy hat I've had since 1978. When I leave this world, the nephew I helped raise will be the fourth generation wear the boots. 4
UglyBob Posted January 4 Share #4 Posted January 4 Oh, and I still have leather motorcycle jacket I got in 1973, but it doesn't fit anymore. I'd have to lose about 130 pounds to get into it now. 1

Popular Post groupw Posted January 4 Popular Post Share #6 Posted January 4 A few T-shirts from the old record store. I don’t wear them much any more, but will for special occasions. Last summer Heat Grand Island had 80s night. WoW and I wore them. I got smiles, nods and high fives all night!
shootingstar Posted January 4 Share #7 Posted January 4 Ummm.. A long wool sweater from Greece when I went there in 1986. I haven't worn it in 4 years. Maybe I should revisit... 2 cycling jerseys --28+ yrs. old. I've been wearing and cycling in them since. Wear each probably 1-2 times average per wk. each yr. Oldest? 3 bras ... 38 yrs. old. I handwash them. Yes, the quality is incredible..back them. Sure, one can get quality now for 4x the price. Worn several times/month.
Bikeguy Posted January 4 Share #8 Posted January 4 I'm sure I have lots of old clothes. How old... 4 years ago when I packed up my clothes when we moved... I found some stuff I wore in college (graduated in 77). I played a lot of basketball in the winter for fun. There were some bb shorts I wore. Those were short back then. They were also rather small... my larger body would never fit into those shorts. My favorite sweatshirt from college... was just too worn out. (and too small) That stuff got donated or dumped based on it's condition.

ChrisL Posted January 4 Share #10 Posted January 4 That I wear regularly??? In 2010 the MLB All Star Game was in Anaheim. Later that year my 12 YO son insisted on having an all star game shirt that was on clearance except it was a 2XL. Well of course he never wore it so I took it back & wear it as a sleep shirt. I own jackets from the 1990’s and I have my Army PT clothes from 1984. I have some vintage wool jerseys from 1982 but those are on display in my friends bike shop. smudge ★ Posted January 4 Share #11 Posted January 4 I have my Dad's 4-H wool jacket from 1960. I rarely wear it, but I break it out once in a while. I've got a pair of Mountaineer boots HoSmudge gave me for Christmas the first year we were married. They were such an amazing gift I almost cried and gave him a big hug. They are still my "good" winter boots for serious snow days. I got them about 1984 or so.

Parsnip Totin Jack ★ Posted January 4 Share #15 Posted January 4 Probably my pair of LL Bean cold weather boots. They’re going on 40 years old. They’re probably due for resoling but the leather uppers are as good as new.

Wilbur ★ Posted January 4 Share #18 Posted January 4 A pair of shoes that were my Dad's. 1963 Florsheim Imperials in black shell cordovan. I had them restored with the original V-cleat heels. They are tanks I will never wear out. My nephew wants them when I am done with them. 1
Kirby ★ Posted January 4 Share #19 Posted January 4 Nothing noteworthy. I have some older clothes, but nothing of particularly sentimental value.
shootingstar Posted January 4 Share #20 Posted January 4 My own shoes and boots that I've bought and worn, have never lasted beyond 7 years or so at most. Well, I don't have car, so.. My feet have also changed which requires me to wear custom orthotics for past 20 yrs. In terms of old shoes though, I did wear a pr. of dress sandals that belonged to my mother around when she married my father. They were brought out of storage after 15 yrs. and I wore them for about 5 yrs. with dresses/skirts. Just wonderful to recycle good quality fashion. Interesting thread!

12string Posted January 4 Share #24 Posted January 4 I don't pay enough attention to even know. I'm sure when they get too old, they magically go to Goodwill. I suppose that's why I couldn't find my lucky New Years' day bellbottoms
