Continuing my obsession on lunch

Not sure. Today was a homemade Italian sammich with mortadella, two types of salami, provolone, lettuce and onion slices tossed with oil and vinegar. I’m leaving work early at noon. Wife has a doctor appointment at 1:30. I’ll pack/grab something but I’m not sure what yet. Most take out is garbage but I have to pack something edible I can eat on the road between work and home.

I don't really have lunch most the time. just a 2nd small breakfast snack and tea.

Here's a recipe, that's easy to cook (after doing it once), leftovers taste good too when popping in microwave to reheat.

I substitute green onion with sauteeing white/yellow onion bulb at beginning.   Couscous with Mushrooms and Sun-Dried Tomatoes Recipe - Details, Calories, Nutrition Information | RecipeOfHealth.com

Donate your leftover clear proteins to the food bank.

I am still having at least one a day, and only have a couple left.  They are tasty, have a goodly amount of protein, and are super-convenient, portable, and not too filling.

I don't generally give to the food bank when I have extra food, seeing that I often pass by homeless folks who could use a good meal, and most are pretty receptive.    I did drop off a couple of protein jello's and some squishy smoothies, plus whatever else I had that one can eat without needing heating or dishes before last weekend.   I feel bad for homeless folks, and it generally doesn't take much to make them happy for a while.

Same as almost every work day for the last 40+ years!  Carrots, celery, ham & cheese sandwich, apple, orange, nuts. There are minor variations but the carrots and celery are always there. Peaches instead of apples and oranges in the summer and fall.

Einstein has a similar lunch daily, even now that he is retired.  Swap nuts for one cookie.

I saw homeless folk on my ride on Sunday. That seems to be a city thing. We don’t seem to have them where I live. We do have homeless cats. The cats are not skinny so they are finding enough to eat somewhere.

Are you serious????  WOW!

Why aren't you mixing it up?

It ain’t broke. :) It is odd though that I could probably NEVER do this at home, because for some reason it would be incredibly boring when there are other easily available options.  But for packing up easy and standard works for me.
