If You Were Given 90 Days To Live?

I would quit and spend my last days doing what pleased me.  Even if I was given a year, I would quit.  If I was given 2 years, still, I would quit.

At my age, and with what I have saved and accomplished, I would quit if I had less than 5 years to live.

Assuming I was well enough to travel, I might go and see some sights I have never been to.  I would carefully choose my method of travel, so that I could avoid stress and pain getting to a certain destination.

I agree it's still worth quitting job, even if given 2 years. I'm not sure for me, if 5 years I could do it.  Maybe 3 yrs.

Yes

Yes

I think if I knew a definite date, I'd likely leave.  Part of the problem with retirement planning is planning for the potentially long unknown period.   If I had an exact date, it would be pretty easy to plan.

These answers are easy because I am single and nobody is depending on me for anything.

Would you quit your job?    No.   I already did that.

What about one year to live?     'ditto'

What would be your over/under for staying in the game (grind) vs getting out and living the hell out of life?    Enough said about that...

And this assumes no one is depending on you for income or a nest egg.    After I'm cooked... WoBG will get 75% of my income.  Then SS will increase WoBG's take to what they pay me now.  She will be juts fine.

I think the logic is flawed with this question.  We make an assumption here that we will have the health to do fun things in our last 90 days or year but if we are given this diagnosis then our health is likely failing and we will likely end up with health issues for part of that time.  What if we need to stay employed for medical benefits?

I can’t honestly answer this question, I prefer to live each day as it may be my last.

Nope

Nope

I am living an adventurous life because of my work.  When I am gone, the kids will be well looked after so I might have them quit and we can travel with my job as a family.

I have a 6 million dollar life insurance policy through work so all is good.  The Wilburettes will live a good life.

Agreed, but your last day...will it involve a workday?  I think that was the nature of the question.

or keep the continual risk that your next minute could be your last. Your last elevator ride, last street crossing, or last drive home, last big bite of chili dog.

Aren't you a bundle of positive energy?  :)

I’d love to say no but I’m going to guess it would be employed on medical LOA in hospice or a hospital.  Don’t  get me wrong, I’d love to spend my final days doing fun things with those I love but the reality is it isn’t likely to happen.  That’s why I cherish the time with my loved ones each & every day.

For example my daughter asked if we could baby sit so they could run some errands last night.  I was dead tired but said hell yes as I cherish every moment with my grand son.  We had an awesome time together and hung out with my daughter for a bit after.  I cherish these moments.

If I had 90 day to a year to live, I'd do things that bring me pleasure without tiring my brain out too much: playing piano or guitar, watching movies and reading books I haven't gotten around to seeing/reading, fishing in the Bay, etc.

The things I accomplished in life are enough for me that I wouldn't feel the need to do some last major accomplishment.
