Popular Post Parr8hed Posted January 5 Popular Post Share #1 Posted January 5 G was driving my truck. It is obviously wider than his Jeep. He said someone in the other lane "swerved" and he had to move off the road slightly. Whacked a mailbox with my mirror. Trashed it. Ok, no big deal. He's alive. A replacement mirror is 65 bucks and 30 min job to replace. A few small scratches on the door of a 10 year old truck with 220K miles on it. Things could be worse. Well now I have to buy ANOTHER mirror. The driver's side mirror turn signal quit working. I have been meaning to dive into that, just have not yet. But now the new mirror is heated. Apparently my truck was wired for heated mirrors, just didn't have them. It was awfully nice to drive to work this morning being able to see out of the passenger mirror. Of course the driver mirror was still frosted. And the new one also has a cool "puddle" light under it that comes on when the running lights are on. The driver mirror does not. So I guess I will pony up the 65 bucks for another one to have a heated puddle light mirror that has an intact turn signal. 3 3 1
jsharr ★ Posted January 5 Share #2 Posted January 5 Nice. It is cool that all the other features work that were not on your original mirrors.

I just plugged the existing harness plug into the mirror plug. It was seriously one electrical plug and 3 bolts. The hardest part is taking the door panel off. That is about a 20 min job (INCLUDING finding the right socket).

donkpow Posted January 5 Share #8 Posted January 5 I hit a mailbox once. I didn't screw around, though. I totaled the mailbox, the car, a light pole, and a couple of pine trees. It took a while for the trees to die, so there is that. 1
