Isn't this the guy who is allergic to cats?

Waffle has made a home in the hearts of the DH home. Well played, Waffle. Well played.

Yes.  He has the allergy.

I am not at all keen about traveling in a 148" van with a litterbox in it.

Yikes!  Litter in the truck would be a no-go for me.  It would get everywhere and stink to high heaven in an enclosed space.

I have a cat allergy, but it has lessened a fair bit after having spent time with lots of cats over the years.  Cats are still disgusting, but they are tenaciously endearing at times, at least some of them are.  I have friends with cats, and two of the cats seemed to prefer me, which is weird.

Yeah.  Waffle is not coming on van trips.

He is next to me right now on his towel. He showed up for breakfast and hangs out for while after his meal.  He is purring so loudly right now.

Why do cats want everythng you have?  Anything I am eating or drinking, he is nosy about it.

I couldn't leave my food unattended around my prior cat for a second without him at least sniffing at it and eating it if he proved acceptable.  My current cat shows no interest at all in "human food" and I can leave my plate without worry.  But if I were eating a plate of Temptations Treats, she'd fight me for them!

I didn't know cats like bread, but he is ultra nosy and curious when I eat bread.

You know, litter boxes aren't the nightmare everyone makes them out to be. Arm and Hammer unscented clumping litter. Scoop it out, dig a hole with your Deuce Trowel, done. (I save plastic Walmart or grocery store bags and put the scoopings in there until trash day.)

And if he's an outside guy, you can bet he's fine with doing business outside.

I'd rather deal with a litter box than a composting toilet.

We prefer a toilet to a litter box.  ;)

Seriously though, compostable toilets are far easier and cleaner to deal with than a black tank and the sewage smell.   The cat + travel thing adds a level of stress that we are not comfortable with.  I can predict him jumping out, getting lost and stessing about dealing with him on a big trip.

FTR, a cat can be trained to use a human toilet.

maybe not a compostable one or the way ours will be.  Remove a seat, open the top, go, close the trap and spin the handle.  Even Toonces wouldn't be able to do this.  :D
