Popular Post Dirtyhip Posted January 6 Popular Post Share #1 Posted January 6 Today, I got a ride home. I walk out to the car, and waffle is in the car. The excuse was that he wouldn't leave the house, so he put waffle in the car to come get me. This excuse seems a little hollow. Funny development. LMAO! 5 8

smudge ★ Posted January 6 Share #8 Posted January 6 Isn't this the guy who is allergic to cats? Waffle has made a home in the hearts of the DH home. Well played, Waffle. Well played.
Popular Post maddmaxx ★ Posted January 6 Popular Post Share #9 Posted January 6 Back early in our marriage womaxx and I had a Siamese cat before we had children. He went everywhere with us and was harness trained. Womaxx used to take a commuter bus to work in Hartford and since I got home before she did I would pick her up at the commuter lot. Pharoah would go with me every day and sit calmly in the car as various busses would arrive and passengers would get off. When womaxx would get off the bus he would start in with the Siamese howl. All the regulars on that bus knew him and got a kick out of his greeting for "mom". We had many great adventures with that cat. 4 1
smudge ★ Posted January 6 Share #10 Posted January 6 Also, there goes your argument about what you would do with him while you're gone for weeks on end. Apparently Waffle travels well. Again...Well played, Waffle. Well played.

Litter in the truck would be a no-go for me. It would get everywhere and stink to high heaven in an enclosed space. I have a cat allergy, but it has lessened a fair bit after having spent time with lots of cats over the years. Cats are still disgusting, but they are tenaciously endearing at times, at least some of them are. I have friends with cats, and two of the cats seemed to prefer me, which is weird. Waffle is not coming on van trips. He is next to me right now on his towel. He showed up for breakfast and hangs out for while after his meal. He is purring so loudly right now. Why do cats want everythng you have? Anything I am eating or drinking, he is nosy about it.
Kirby ★ Posted January 6 Share #14 Posted January 6 I couldn't leave my food unattended around my prior cat for a second without him at least sniffing at it and eating it if he proved acceptable. My current cat shows no interest at all in "human food" and I can leave my plate without worry. But if I were eating a plate of Temptations Treats, she'd fight me for them! 1

smudge ★ Posted January 6 Share #17 Posted January 6 You know, litter boxes aren't the nightmare everyone makes them out to be. Arm and Hammer unscented clumping litter. Scoop it out, dig a hole with your Deuce Trowel, done. (I save plastic Walmart or grocery store bags and put the scoopings in there until trash day.) And if he's an outside guy, you can bet he's fine with doing business outside. I'd rather deal with a litter box than a composting toilet.

Seriously though, compostable toilets are far easier and cleaner to deal with than a black tank and the sewage smell. The cat + travel thing adds a level of stress that we are not comfortable with. I can predict him jumping out, getting lost and stessing about dealing with him on a big trip.

Remove a seat, open the top, go, close the trap and spin the handle. Even Toonces wouldn't be able to do this.
