Needed a casual pair of shoes for work so I stopped at Kohl's on the way home yesterday to buy skechers. I've had a couple pairs and they're comfy.  I never seen shoes w/ Goodyear on them:blink: Anywho these are nice. They're slip on like old people shoes. But they don't look like it :D

They've been working on it a while.

A Goodyear welt is a strip of leather, rubber, or plastic that runs along the perimeter of a shoe outsole.[1] The machinery used for the process was invented in 1869 by Charles Goodyear Jr., the son of Charles Goodyear.[2] It has been noted by historians that Goodyear was a frequent visitor to the shoe factory of William J. Dudley, founder of Johnston & Murphy, where early work on sole stitching equipment was performed.[3]

:D  You aren't that old yet...  practicing??

I remember this movie scene.   There was a tear in the fabric and the guy at the far left and to be lowered to the tear.   Now... I can't remember the name of the movie.  :(   Getting old sucks.

I have my eye on some kohls shoes that are slip ons.    They are 10.5 but they fit and I normally wear 9s, but the 9s I got for Christmas from Amazon did not fit worth shit. Will go back now that the 30% off  is in effect and I f got $5 Kohls cash for returning to Amazon there.

In-flight repair to the Graf Zeppelin's (LZ-127) outer cover over the South Atlantic, circa 1933.  From the article in Life Magazine.

@Ralphie was there, he was the guy they lowered over the side. He hasn’t been right since.
