Official NFL Week 18 Thread

My fantasy leagues season is over, but there's an interesting game on Yahoo, The NFL Yahoo Cup Round 18 that is free.  You can win a weekly money prize or a season-long money prize.

https://sports.yahoo.com/dailyfantasy

You are given $200 in play money to pick 10 NFL players, 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 1Flex, 1K, 1DST (Defense and Special Teams).  For a QB like Josh Allen it's $37 but $20 for Matt Ryan.  It's $18 for a DST like the Ravens, $10 for the Falcons.

The players then do standard fantasy scoring and if you're lucky, you win.  Last week I was 6191 out of 174,461 entries.

I won $2 in the all-season free NFL Yahoo Cup game a couple years ago, then $10 in a $1 Thanksgiving Yahoo contest. Lost a few $1 contests and have $9 left on account.

So I'm still playing with Yahoo's money and will enter the $1 playoff contest when it hopefully comes up next week.

The Ravens can't knock the Bengals out of the AFC North title, even if they beat them for the 2nd time this year because the Bengals didn't get to lose to the Bills last week.

The Ravens have clinched a playoff berth, so they're likely to start undrafted 3rd string QB Anthony Brown against the Bengals.  Unless the Ravens D does a lot, the Bengals should win and are favored by 9 points, which is a lot for the Las Vegas bookies to give.

I just watched the Jacksonville game.  Doug Pederson was born in Bellingham, WA.  I guess I'm happy for him but I'm just thinking Jacksonville was fortunate to win that game and I'd be shocked if they did anything in the playoffs next week.  It sorta brought into view if my Seahags get in.  Better to get in than not -- and weird things do happen -- but Seattle is going nowhere fast. But I'll watch them tomorrow. Mainly to see Seattle welcome Bobby Wagner back.  This isn't going to be like the Russell Wilson departure who wanted out.  Bobby wanted to be a lifetime Seahawk who Pete and John effed up on how they released him. Bobby Wagner deserves every good thing that happens to him.

The only pickup the Rams made last off season that worked out too.  The Rams were also decimated on the D Line but before Donald, Gaines and a few others went down Wilson was really making an impact on run defense.

It will be a fun game to watch, not sure how it will go. Watching the Rams play the past month is like watching a spring training baseball game.  It’s mostly 3rd & 4th string players and we are getting a really good look at our practice squad team… Our O line is so bad it got all three of the QB’s on the roster injured! 😂

The Bengals beat the Ravens 27-16, starting an undrafted 3rd string QB, sitting a healthy RB J.K. Dobbins, sitting a could-play Mark Andrews, and showing nothing flashy.

The reason was the Ravens will be playing the Bengals in the same place next week in the playoffs.

The Ravens were in the game until about 6 minutes left.  The Bengals scored 3 TD's thanks to turnovers and 6 points otherwise.  The Ravens Defense is among tops in the NFL since acquiring LB Roquan Smith from the Bears.

Surely, the Bengals weren't showing anything special either.  The Ravens at Bengals Wild Card Game next week should be a good game!

Hey @Dottles I hope your Hawks win & make it in.  My Rams are just playing for pride anyway….

Thanks Chris. TBH whether we win or lose, just don’t allow the Packers through  We’ve got our own share of injuries. We aren’t going anywhere. Sad but I’m apathetic as hell.

Maybe. You guys can definitely do it but I think you’re facing a team that has found themselves again.

We look like Jacksonville. Shit.

The Hawks O Line is giving up a lot of sacks & pressures and the Rams are missing their two top D Linemen.  Yeah that doesn’t bode well for your team…

Tams get the ball back with 2 minutes, let’s see what happens…

DK Metcalf has no brain. He should have been flagged.

Well you got the win but to be honest you got a lot of help with shitty calls.  Smith plows Ramsey out of bounds & gets a flag.  Metcalf then swipes at Ramsey & no call.  They a pick & pointing the ball at the Rams bench & no call… Whatever the Rams were cooked either way but that was shit officiating IMHO.

The pointing was Diggs against Wagner and they’re good friends. The flop by Ramsey was a joke. The late hit against Smith was questionable. DK not getting flagged was a joke. But where I think you really got screwed was the running into the kicker flag.

Yeah the roughing the kicker was a horrible call too.  One of many in the 4th quarter…

STEELERS HAVE WINNING SEASON!

Several weeks ago, it seemed sure that Steelers' Coach Mike Tomlin would have his first losing season in 16 years coaching the Steelers.

They finished 9-8!

I don’t know if anybody but Kzoo or Prophet care.
