BuffJim Posted January 7 Share #4 Posted January 7 I’m trying to skip the drinking during the week, along with cutbacks to sweets and snacks. So far, so good.
MickinMD ★ Posted January 7 Share #5 Posted January 7 We've had lots of rain. I'm still trying to find a day when I'm feeling energetic, have the time, the ground isn't muddy, the sun is shining, it's not too windy and the temperatures are in the mid-40's or higher so I can complete taking down the last 4 tomato cages and mow what's left into mulch. I only need two hours! 1 1

Yeah, you guys are screwed and you got a lot more coming. You got more rain in a ten day period than what our 3 month average total is for the winter months. https://www.accuweather.com/en/weather-news/relentless-storm-train-resulting-in-eye-popping-rain-snow-totals-in-california/1465132

petitepedal ★ Posted January 8 Share #12 Posted January 8 I thought it started in the UK...so I googled it..and yes...it starting there in 2012...and slowly made its way here.. I had a resident..(on the younger side back then) working body guard like security and such at concerts or special events...and he would give his bod a break in January as well..also helped with dropping a few pounds.

This winter will top off reservoirs, fill aquifers and stave off drought conditions for a few years. 37 minutes ago, Further said: Lot a whooshin goin on Wait what, this isn’t a weather thread!?!! 😂

The term is pretty new, but the idea of starting off a new year with some positive goals is not. For folks who have a poor relationship with alcohol and/or have health impacts from a "sit around and drink" lifestyle, it makes sense. It likely has a small (or large) financial impact too for some folks.
groupw Posted January 8 Share #21 Posted January 8 I was given a super-insulated growler for Christmas. I’m thinking of getting it filled this afternoon to help those poor brewers through this tough economic time for them.
Solution groupw Posted January 8 Solution Share #22 Posted January 8 On the weather front, we have been getting rain about once per week at least. The Santa Rosa river wash has a stream flowing through it. I have a friend in the Bay Area I need to check on. They seem to be getting hit the worst.
