Road Runner Posted January 7 Share #1 Posted January 7 ...maybe two of them. Getting ready for bed, I was walking past the bed and slammed my right three toes on my right foot into the bed footboard. I've stubbed my toes many times, but this isn't that. Much more pain. And still hurting a lot today. I just put tape on them and it feels a bit better. I've always heard there is little you can do for broken toes except to tape them together. Have you ever had a broken toe? If so, how long did it hurt? 1 3

BR46 Posted January 7 Share #10 Posted January 7 They gave me a sandal that wouldn't bend because the sole was a piece of wood and the doctor said that if I had to tape it to the toe next to it. If you need put your foot up and use ice. I put my foot up and used the ice to keep my mix drink cold. 2
JerrySTL ★ Posted January 7 Share #11 Posted January 7 1 hour ago, Road Runner said: Have you ever had a broken toe? If so, how long did it hurt? Yes. I was rough housing with the dog and kicked a piece of furniture barefooted. Two toes turned black immediately. Unfortunately I had paid for two half marathons within the next 3 weeks. Couldn't do either. I could ride my bicycle OK after a week as my bike shoes are stiff. I didn't bother to go to a doctor as unless it's an extremely bad break, not much that they can do. I've had gout many times and it hurts like a broken toe, but usually the pain doesn't last as long. 1

TrentonMakes Posted January 7 Share #16 Posted January 7 Sorry to hear - hope it feels better soon. I thought I'd broken a big toe once but it was an arthritis flare-up. I thought I broke it kicking the football.

ChrisL Posted January 7 Share #22 Posted January 7 Some of the vets maybe know what I’m talking about but we were off loading a rack full of M60 machine guns once and I dropped my side on my right pinky toe. I got it checked out & the Army doc said yeah you probably broke it & taped it. I think he gave me some pain meds too. It hurt like a mutha for a few days, was uncomfortable for a a week or so & was fine after about 2 weeks.
Dottleshead Posted January 7 Share #23 Posted January 7 I hope RR you didn’t break them. Every step you take will be a reminder of just how painful it is. Best of outcomes.

They have felt better each day. Still some discoloration and there is some pain if I try to walk normally. But as long as I walk in a gimpy manner where I don't bend my toes, they are okay at this point. I still have them taped. My main concern now is my colonoscopy this week.
