Ever had it?  Tried it for the first time tonight.  Went with tsuyu broth, well marbled NY strip and scallops.

I used to work with a guy who liked it and we ate it a few times for lunch. It’s OK, not my favorite style of Asian cuisine.

Shabu Shabu means swish swish in Japanese.  You have a pot in front of you that they fill with a broth seasoned with your choice of seasonings. You get a bowl of vegetables and a bowl of rice. Then you order your choice of proteins. They are sliced very thin so when you swish swish them in the boiling liquid, they cook very quickly then you take the cooked protein, dip it in a variety of sauces and set it on top of the rice in your bowl. When you have a selection of meats and veggies on the rice, you eat some when you cook some more after you’ve eaten all your veggies and meat you get your selection of noodles would you put in the hot broth and cook and you finish the meal with a noodle soup?l

Basically like Chinese hot pot.
