So I feel like the more waffle houses that your state has, the more likely you are to win the college football national championship.

Probably.

I wish there was one closer to me.  For a well-established, highly successful, and popular chain, they are severely underrepresented in many states.

The last Waffle House I dined at was in Ohio. There are four locations within driving distance of me but they’re all off of interstate 95. Closest is 34 miles. There’s an old school diner in town that I’m sure is just as good.

It isn't really about being just as good, it is more the experience.  I like the hash brown menu there, but everything else is cheap and ok.  Still, it is always weird and fun.

They seem to be located in that part of the country that suffers from overweight.   Hmmm.  :scratchhead:

Are you blaming Waffle House for the obesity epidemic???  You might be onto something!

Yeah, there was that national championship IU won back in......... oh, wait.

Michigan is about the only team I can see possibly upsetting this theory of mine.  I guess a few of the Cali schools might be a threat?

Weird "popular" would translate to being considered "worst" :scratchhead:

That breakfast place is so popular, I won't eat there! It's the worst!

Maybe we should do that with our members.  Rank them best to worst?  Refuse to read, react or respond to the worst?

Altoona, Pa. had a waffle king that I considered far better than any Waffle House I’ve been to. I think that was largely because of an amazing cook they had. They are now listed as permanently closed.

I hear there is a new Waffle House just opened in Clammy Balls.

It's a hut, not a house.  Waffle Hut.

Does SW have a honorary Waffle House coffee mug yet?  Those will serve you well at the inevitable Waffle House brawl.

No they wouldn’t. They’re tiny; maybe 8 ounces of coffee. Useless for drinking out of and not good in a fight. Now if they had 16 oz mugs, you’d be on to something there.

It was our late night hangout when I was a teenager

I was a little older than that. When the bars closed at 2am we went to the pool hall for a couple hours and then went to Perkins. I always got a mushroom omelet. A friend of mine always said that looks good, I should have ordered that. The next time he did order the same as me. When the waitress brought our food out mine had more than twice as many mushrooms as his. He asked the waitress how come mine doesn’t look like his? She said probably because the cook doesn’t have a crush on you. Then she pointed to the girl that made my omelet who was standing there watching and she smiled and waved. She was pretty good looking but I never followed up on it.
