It's why we pay him the big bucks!  Scoops like this one!  I bet @donkpow did some short selling on the news???

I avoid the airlines. I've seen some pilots on the internet that, let's face it, scare me. :o

See, this is what's weird about Palantir. It probably won't bump at all. Maybe I don't understand their business. :dontknow:

This is one of my favorite scenes in the movie Not that he unplugs it, but the fact that all the lights are plugged in w/ an extension cord :D

And that Johnny is so eville as to to unplug it, and that such an eville person has access to it. :D But it’s ok because he was just kidding.

So the gov't is penalizing Southwest Airlines for failing to upgrade their software system. Now we discover that the whole industry is disrupted by outdated gov't software?

For years I've assumed that most software is outdated.  This was realistically based on a close association with both programmers and their management.

This really seems to be true across the broad spectrum of operations - public and private - all over the US (and world?).

My experience is that we're constantly rolling out new stuff to replace the old & outdated stuff, but because we have a crap ton of systems using different software, there's a long pipeline of old/outdated/hanging-on-by-a-thread bits of software with only so much time/money/resources available to chip away at it.

IOW, like infrastructure, there will ALWAYS be an oldest or most "broken" item, and when that's replaced, the next in line is now there and the replacement just heads to the end of the line knowing it too will need replacing at some point.
